First step: Wash the chicken drumsticks and remove the fat if there is any.
Secret to enjoy these chicken tandoori pieces more juicy and tender is to marinate it twice. Yes that's correct TWICE.
Pre-marination steps:
Make the cuts wherever there is a flesh a big cut of around 1 to 1.5 inch. On each drumstick take a knife and make 2-3 cuts. After the cuts, in a bowl take red chili powder, salt to taste and lemon. Mix it well and marinate this mixture into the cuts been made.
Marination Steps:
For proper marination, take a bowl of thick curd, add grated ginger, lots of grated garlic, coriander powder, red chili powder, black pepper powder, red color (its optional i prefer not to) and in the end a table spoon of oil. An oil helps this mixture to stick nicely and make these leg pieces shiny. Marinate the leg pieces very nicely into this mixture. Cover it with a plastic wrap and and keep it aside or if the weather is hot then in the refrigerator for minimum 2 hours.
Barbecue Time:
Grill these chicken drumsticks or barbecue them in a nice summer day, i even bake them in the oven at 350 Degrees. Depending upon the size however it usually take between 25 to 30 mins. Keep flipping in between and apply if wish to melted butter.
If baked and i have time i prefer to sizzle them again in a pan or in a griller with some onions, chat masala and with few drops of lemon.
Everyone enjoys so much while eating these drumsticks and I enjoy looking at them :)
